Really Scarey, But true
10.27.04 (8:16 pm)
Check this out. and all you people who meet up strangers from the Internet, especially for BDSM, pls take care. Wouldn't want to scare anyone; Ash and me met thru a indian sub-slaves chat room, and we haven't regretted it. But before I met Ash I have met a load of really funny people, some of them truely crazy, and yes, I have had some near fatal accidents. Just got wiser, and more careful now.

"Corpse-abuse suspect had dark side, Web data reveals"
By Tom Beyerlein
Dayton Daily News

DAYTON | In a profile on a matchmaker Web site for gay sado-masochists, Matthew Morgan Caddy described himself as "average, innocent-looking, but (with a) very dark side."He listed as some of his interests "blindfolds, bondage light/heavy/severe, breath control, bullwhip, collars, cuffs, electricity, face mask, gags, kidnapping, mummification ...."
Today, this man who enjoys holding others captive is himself a prisoner — of the Montgomery County Jail — after police on Aug. 31 found the corpse of a missing Minnesota man in his basement amidst a collection of bondage devices.

The Montgomery County coroner's office still hasn't determined what killed Daniel Rodney Everson, 46, but a ruling could come this week, said Director Ken Betz.

Police believe Everson met Caddy over the Internet and came to Dayton by bus.

Caddy, 52, of 88 Pioneer St. off Riverside Drive, stood mute at his arraignment last week on charges of gross abuse of a corpse and possession of criminal tools, and a judge entered a not guilty plea for him. Police won't disclose the condition of the corpse but say there's evidence Everson was held in restraints.

Caddy could face more charges, said Sgt. Gary White of the homicide squad. He said police want to know if Caddy is linked to the disappearances of two other men from outside Ohio. They have seized his computer and are scouring its hard drive for clues.

It isn't the first time Caddy's self-described "kinky" tastes have come to the attention of police. He was convicted of sexual battery and kidnapping in 1977 after handcuffing and assaulting a co-worker, and White said he has another conviction in another state. In December, a visiting Australian man told police Caddy wouldn't free him after a consensual bondage session at Caddy's home. Acquaintances in the local peace movement said they were surprised to learn of Caddy's arrest in Everson's death.

"It's one of those things where people say, 'Wow, he was a quiet neighbor,' " said Jana Schroeder, who formerly worked for the activist American Friends Service Committee and knew Caddy from peace demonstrations.

Caddy was born Stephen Lee McFarland on Sept. 19, 1951. He was raised in Cincinnati by parents now deceased, White said.

By Caddy's Web profiles, it wasn't a happy childhood. In recent times, he participated in Internet-organized "meetups" for abuse survivors and post-traumatic stress disorder sufferers and described himself as a "survivor of long-term child abuse/molestation."

Caddy, also known as Stephen McFarland, was in Dayton and working as a supervisor for the Suicide Prevention Center. On the pretense of giving a subordinate sensitivity training, Caddy handcuffed, stripped, sexually assaulted and robbed him, according to court records.

Indicted on rape and kidnapping charges, McFarland pleaded no contest to and was convicted of lesser offenses of sexual battery and kidnapping (person unharmed), and was placed on probation.

On Dec. 15, 1979, two months before his probation ended, Caddy, then 28, married a 45-year-old Yellow Springs woman in a civil ceremony. Five days prior to the wedding, the couple entered into a legal agreement allowing them to keep their separate property in the event of a divorce. Also under the agreement, "each of them shall be permitted to date and have sexual relations with other persons and that neither of them shall claim such dating and sexual relations with other persons as grounds for divorce or annulment of their marriage."

In January 1981, after 13 months of marriage, the woman filed for divorce. In a subsequent sworn affidavit, she said she contacted a battered-women's program for help after Caddy verbally abused and threatened physical abuse against herself and her daughter. The couple's divorce was final in 1982.

McFarland told a probate judge in 1984 that he'd been using the name of Matthew Morgan Caddy for years and wanted to officially change his name. An avid genealogist, he said Matthew Morgan was an old family name. The name change was granted. Also in the mid-1980s, Caddy served as president of Dignity Dayton, a group of gay Catholics.

While the 1977 sex-abuse case was pending, Caddy listed as a character witness a priest at the old St. Leonard's College, a Catholic seminary in Centerville that is now a nursing home. It isn't clear if he attended the seminary, but by 1985 Caddy told people he had a master of divinity degree.

Over the years, Caddy has been employed as a university instructor and as a social services worker, Sgt. White said. He wouldn't identify the university. He said he doesn't know if Caddy was employed at the time of his arrest.

His personality profiles regularly appeared on Internet gay-matchmaking sites.

In one profile, Caddy didn't mention sadism, though he listed his sexual tastes as "kinky." He said he's a left-wing Christian with a university degree who likes jazz and classical music, theater and film, hiking and volleyball. He said he has a good sense of humor, is "quite" monogamous and practices safer sex "most of the time."

But on an S-M site, Caddy was blunt about his desire for sex slaves.

"These are the basic rules: It will surrender and submit to me, first, because it is here, then because you desire to do so, and finally because it knows that it brings me pleasure," according to a profile bearing Caddy's photos attributed to a master calling himself "Pioneer."

He said successful applicants would perform domestic duties for him and would be "uniformed (or not, as appropriate and desirable) and generally in some form of bondage/restraint."

Inactive periods, "Pioneer" wrote, would include time for "sleep, rest, confinement (for training, storage or punishment purposes). During inactive periods, slave will generally be stripped ? gagged, bound and will spend period in various confinement situations (caged, chained to ring in floor at foot of Master's bed, etc.)."

He said of his slave: "Its reason for existence will be serving me — attending to my needs and desires. A physical workout regime will be strictly designed and followed. All failures to meet the requirements will be punished."

At 7 a.m. on Dec. 30, a 38-year-old Australian man woke up at 88 Pioneer St., still tied up from the night before, according to Dayton police records. Caddy had met the man at the airport the previous day and they engaged in consensual bondage. But in the morning, the man was ready to regain his freedom. "He asked Matt to untie him, he was done with 'the game' they were playing," the report said. "Matt told him no that they weren't done and put ether on a cloth and tried to put it over his mouth."

The man, his hands bound in front of him, pulled the cloth away and started screaming at Caddy to untie him, the report said. Caddy complied a half-hour later, but threw the man out of the house, according to the report. The Australian "stated that he did not want to press charges for theft because he knew that Matt had taken his camcorder and camera and did not want anything put on the Net," the report said. Efforts to reach the man in Australia were unsuccessful.

In late July, Daniel Everson's family reported him missing from his home in Litchfield, Minn. The computer technician's car was found near the local bus station.

Everson's obituary later said, "Daniel loved to travel, often traveling by bus." Police believe he took the bus to Dayton to meet Caddy.

On Aug. 31, Dayton police got a tip that there was a dead body in the basement of 88 Pioneer St. It proved to be Everson's remains.

"There's evidence that Mr. Everson was restrained in the basement," Sgt. White said.

"As far as deaths related to this kind of (sado-masochistic) behavior, it's extremely rare," he said.

Sado-masochistic elements often exist in healthy relationships, said Jack Porter, a Pennsylvania clinical psychologist specializing in sexual behavior and the psychology of criminals.

"Sado-masochism is a very common form of human behavior, but when it reaches the proportion of a personality disorder or worse, now you're dealing with a smaller sample," Porter said.

Pathological sadists, he said, often say they've been abused themselves as children. They can't control their impulses and aggression.

"The basic premise we rest on clinically is that hurt people hurt people," Porter said. "The research indicates that abused people abuse others. He suffered a trauma, according to him. Now they're going to make other people suffer. It's their rationalization."

Back from our Holiday
10.26.04 (9:12 pm)
Yes indeed we are back.. Both K and I left two weeks ago on a holiday, a referesher if you will. Methinks every couple needs a break every now and then, a chance to just up and leave everything familiar and enjoy each other company alone. So that's what we did, we spent two long delicious weeks on holiday. Ten long lazy days in the Himalayas, snuggled under the covers in front of a warm fire and it was great. Then a few days in Rajasthan in relative heat lol.
But we are back now with loads of pictures and stories as well.
we'll fill in later after we are unpacked and showered and cleaned out.. lol

Cheers

Porn murder

Woman accused of lie in porn star's death is released
Montco resident was a photo assistant to the homicide suspect.

By Pamela Lehman
Of The Morning Call

A woman charged with lying to police about the stabbing death of a porn actress was released from Montgomery County Prison on Tuesday.

Jennifer Mitkus, 30, of Oaks had been unable to post $10,000 cash bail and had been in prison since March.

Judge William Nicholas ordered Mitkus released because she's been in prison more than 180 days without being brought to trial.

Mitkus is awaiting trial on charges of unsworn falsification to authorities and hindering apprehension for allegedly lying to police about her last contact with Canadian porn actress Natel King.

Prosecutors aren't ''terribly bothered'' by Mitkus' release, said Barbara Ashcroft, Montgomery County assistant district attorney.

The delay of the start of Anthony Frederick's trial affected Mitkus' case, Ashcroft said.

Frederick, 46, of Eagleville is charged with first- and third-degree murder in King's death. Frederick's attorney withdrew from his case in September and a new defense attorney was named.

Mitkus' attorney, Carolyn Carluccio, could not be reached for comment Wednesday.

Prosecutors had opposed Mitkus' release, saying she had no permanent address and is a flight risk because she was a prostitute.

No trial date has yet been set for Mitkus or Frederick.

Prosecutors said King, 23, came to the area to pose for bondage photos taken by Frederick on Feb. 29.

Mitkus told police the day of the photo shoot was her first day to work as an assistant for Frederick. Mitkus said the last time she saw King was outside a rented apartment studio in Conshohocken after the photo session.

King's body was found was found in March in Whitemarsh Township. She was wearing bondage accessories and was wrapped in a photographer's backdrop similar to one in a photo taken by Frederick.

King probably was killed when the simulated violence in the photos suddenly turned real, said District Attorney Bruce L. Castor Jr. She was stabbed several times.

Sex harassment charge leveled against Maurer
09/15/2004

MORRISTOWN – The Town Council was expected to take up a sexual harassment complaint in closed session Tuesday, Sept. 14, that was leveled by a former town worker against Town Administrator Eric Maurer.

The former secretary in the Morristown mayor’s office, Ann Marie Spagnola, filed a tort claim last Thursday at town hall claiming the town administrator subjected her to a hostile work environment by exposing her to sexually explicit stories on his office computer.
Spagnola resigned last month, according to town officials.

Her claim came with an eight-page letter from her attorney alleging that Maurer misused the computer and subjected her to an “ongoing pattern of severe and/or ongoing pervasive sexual harassment.”

The letter claims her civil rights were violated and she suffered depression, sexual harassment, emotional distress and humiliation.

The letter from her attorney, Lisa Manshel of Millburn, states in part, “I am writing to determine whether the parties have any interest in discussing this matter pre-suit.”

The claim also seeks letters of reference from the mayor and administrator so that could assist her in getting a new job. There is no specification of a dollar amount for damages.

The notice, which is required to be filed to notify a municipality of a pending lawsuit, also names Mayor Jay DeLaney, and Michael Rich, a special counsel hired last year by the council to look into allegations that Maurer misused his computer, according to the tort claim.

DeLaney called the notice and letter “vindictive and utter nonsense.”

“The allegations are frivolous and meritless,” he added. “We had disciplined Mr. Maurer in July for inappropriate use of his computer when he visited a chat room behind closed doors. There’s nothing more to it.”

Spagnola, who started working at town hall in 1991 and eventually served as an IT (Information Technology) management specialist, said the problems started in 2000 when she found sexually explicit stories in a satchel holding an office laptop, according to the letter.

In November 2000, she alleges, Maurer asked her to remove a sexually explicit screen saver from his computer.

“She saw a photograph of and adult man dressed like a headmaster holding a paddle in a position above the exposed male buttocks of an underage boy. Eric Mauer said the screen-saver had been e-mailed to him,” the letter states.

DeLaney said Spagnola had been asked to remove it as part of her job. “She’s IT,” DeLaney said. “That’s her job. We had some junk on the computers and asked her to clean it up.”

In August 2001, when Maurer was on vacation, she also claims an assistant town attorney asked her to retrieve documents from his office and she looked on his computer and found explicit stories and a link to an alleged dominatrix-type Web site. She also alleges she found similar stories on diskettes when she was in his office at other times.

She claims she complained to the mayor. The claim says nothing was done but DeLaney said Rich eventually was hired to look into the matter and that’s how the chat room incident was uncovered.

A computer policy that Spagnola helped develop eventually was put into place, he added.

Spagnola, who went on medical and administrative leave starting late June, could not be reached for comment. She resigned last month.
